 Hi crafty friends,

Whilst playing with my new Fizzy Moon stamp, I was asked to make a quick Birthday card, and after a quick rummage in my craft stash, this is what I ended up making. I was quite pleased how it came out, seen as it was a last minute make :)

Masking (Rubber stamping)

Masking-
Building a picture/scene with separate stamps

Masking was always something I shied away from, because I thought it was too complicated. But when I decided to give it go, I soon discovered just how easy it really was, so decided to share with my crafty friends this great technique.

Always start by stamping the image that is at the front of your planned picture. In this case it will be the mouse. Also stamp the mouse on a post-it note too, close to the ‘sticky’ end. And then cut the mouse out of the post-it note. Once your mouse is cut from the post-it note, place it over the stamped image of the mouse on your card

Stamp the image that would be directly behind the mouse. Once again stamp this image on a post-it note and cut out and then place over the image you have just stamped on your card.

Repeat this process, working backwards until you have stamped all the elements you want on your image

Once you have stamped all of you elements, you can then start to remove the post-it notes

Always save your masks and store with the stamps themselves as they can be re-used.

And here is another example, using the exact same process:

My adventure and continuing battle with brayering. Part 1

Hiya crafty friends,

I have always loved watching the very talented Barbara Grey, and the wonderful things she creates with her stamping and of course her brayering, so... I decided to buy myself a brayer.

Well, my first purchase didn't go quite as planned as I did find one and thought "Wow, that's a fantastic price..." as it was only £3.99. I got my brand new brayer home and was raring to go, but, on opening the box I soon discovered I had got the totally wrong brayer, (let this be a lesson - check before you buy :/) as this was as hard as a rock. But that aside, it then slowly dawned on me "I haven't got any suitable ink". So I wouldn't have got very far anyway...Ha! Ha!

After searching (for quite a while) on e-bay, I did manage to win myself my very own, Barbara recommend, speedball brayer and some big and juicy ink pads...woo! hoo! There is no stopping me now, well that was until I tried my first attempt at brayering. Oh my word, what a mess, believe me they were. So much so, I'm too embarrassed to post them here.

Oh Barbara you make it look so easy....

To be continued...

Apologies...

Hiya crafters,

Firstly, I am so sorry I've not posted for a while *blush*. It has been all go in my world at the moment, it has been hard to fit everything in, but of course I made sure I had time for my crafting :) and here are some of my latest experiments and cards. I have wanted to practice with my Promarkers for a while now so, when I have had time I have been practising. This is my latests with (you guessed it, my free stamp from a magazine...lol) and I have to admit, I am really pleased how it came out :)

It was also my lovely nephews birthday, not that long ago, and I've always loved Lili of the Valley stamp from a far for a while, but recently I had the opportunity to buy a few and just had to use this one :)

Well, guys...I hope you have been enjoying your crafting and are you like me and planing Christmas cards now? OMG...the C word...eeek! :O

Here's a little sneak peek of what is coming up...

I have some really great news to tell too, but I will save that until next time.

Happy crafting everyone x
