Envelope Box

Where has the week gone?!?! But the good news is...

over on our brand spanking new challenge blog.

This week the design team were asked to make something using envelopes and inserts in a different way. I have made a little gift box.

To make my box I took the envelopes and inserts from the Dollie Daydream - Girl Talk collection.
And here is how I made it...

1. Print and cut out 4 envelopes. I added a hole to the larger flap of two of them.

1. Start with a square of  paper - I suggest NO smaller than 20cm or it will be too fiddly for first timers. 2. Take two of the envelopes, one with a hole and one without. Place them at the side of each other, one pointing upwards and one downwards, as shown below.

3. Line up and glue the the two side flaps to each other.

This is how it will look on the other side

4. Now take a third envelope (one without a hole) and glue to the righthand side of the two you have just glued.

5. Now place some glue on the far right flap...

and wrap around and glue to the remaining small flap to form the box

6. Starting with the bottom of the box (the side with now holes) and fold down the curved flaps. Place some glue on the lift hand side of this flaps...

and then fold down the larger lefthand flap and stick. Place some glue on the other large flap and fold in.

7. Using one of the inserts from the Dollie Daydream - Girl talk collection, I resized and cut away the boarder. I did the 8 times in all

I stuck these around the bottom of the box

8. I then did the same along the top

9. I took the sentiment from the insert that I took the boarder from and used it to make the topper which I placed on the front of the box using foam pads.

10. I made a little double bow in a matching colour

11. Turned it upside down...

 ...and place a drop of glue just n the center and placed a strip of card on top.

12. When the glue dried I threaded each end of the strip in each hole...

 Which formed the closure for the box
