Card swap - December 2011

Hi Crafty friends,

I have been very laps with my card swaps lately over at Dawn's card swap. I've got so much going on in my life at the moment I let it slip, but I have promised myself (and Dawn) that I will be more organised in 2012 and make sure I send a card, as I love receiving my swap partners cards.

The theme for December was Sweet Treats, and I was very last minute getting my card posted, but managed it...phew! And here's my card:

I wanted it quite clean and simple, so not to take away from the image, which I think is really cute. And yes, they are real sweets on the bottom :) I wouldn't recommend eating them though...lol!

I got a bit carried away colouring in the image that I totally forgot to make a note of what Promarker colours I used *Blush*...all I can say is I used lots of pinks and yellows...lol...sorry about that. :/

Father's Day/Male Cards...

Hi Crafty friends,

Well, this months card swap theme has been sent to me, which is 'Boys to men'. And what with Father's Day being just round the corner, I thought it would be a good opportunity to make some Male Cards. Which you know is something we all have trouble with for some reason. Well, after some time head scratching here are the cards I came up with, and I have to add, I really enjoyed making them. The last one is for my dad, who is the best in the world. But I'm biased

May Card Swap

Card #1
For this months Card swap that I have just begun take part in, I came over all experimental. The theme was fairies, which was a theme I hadn't really done before. So there was a bit of head scratching for a while before I remembered some stamps I had borrowed, but not got round to using, so this was the perfect opportunity.

The moon came about by total accident, as I had made a total mess of the original moon I had stamped. But my mum came up with the great idea of cutting it out. I experimented with some different papers and fell the some pearled mirri card I had...it was perfect. Unfortunately the photograph doesn't pick it up too well. So that was my happy accident with this card.

Card #2

My second swap card came about after coming across the Teddy Bo & Co website. I have to add that I had never bought a digi-stamp before but I instantly fell in love with these Teddies, they are sooooo cute and had to get the 'When you wish on a star' teddy to use with this card.

Wings of nature card swap - Card # 2

Theme: Wings of Nature (birds, butterflies, bees etc)
Colours: Green, blue and yellow

As I mentioned in my last post, I am taking part in my first card swap and was really stuck for ideas. As I was readying my other card  for the post an ideas popped into my head, and you know, when creativity strikes you have to follow...lol! It was all a bit of a rush job but I did manage to finish it and will be mailing it in the next couple of days. Phew.....what a stressful first card swap. No I'm only joking, and I'm really looking forward to participating in more in the future with the lovely Dawn.

My first swap card...continued

Why is it your head can be full of ideas most of the time, but when you come to sit down to make something like this, your minds a blank? Well, that's what happen to me...

I found out about this card swap from Facebook and got in contact with the lovely lady who is running it. As this was the first time I had done anything like this, I wasn't sure how it worked, but everything was explained and I set to work...well...that was the plan anyway.

The theme was 'Wings of nature' (birds, butterflies, bee etc) using the colours green, yellow and blue. I got to work on my card, trying this, trying that, but it just got to the point where I didn't like it at all. So that one went out of the window.

My second attempt seemed to be working out better and was going along quite smoothly. I have managed to finish it, although I am not totally happy with it. Following a strict theme was harder than I thought, but I suppose I will get used to that the more I do it and I am also used to adding more dimension, but as it is being sent through the post, I had to keep it to a minimum. Anyway, enough talk. Here it is...eeek!

Sorry the pictures is a bit dark. I had trouble photographing this one for some reason.
