My 'travel' with Shernocky Crafts

Hiya crafty friends,

I wanted to share with you a project I have been working on for the fabulous Shernocky Crafts's 'One for the Men' challenge that was run through my sister challenge blog last month.

I had a go at making an altered suitcase box..

That holds two 'envelope page' albums

I don't know about you, but I always find masculine projects quite hard to do (I wonder why that is???) and it took me a while to finalise my ideas for this project. It's been through many looks and changes, I can tell you. It didn't start off being a suitcase, but took off on a life of it's own :) And this is the first large piece of altered art I have done ( it started out life as two Christmas cards boxes and a banana box...), but it all seems to come together in the end and I'm really pleased how it has came out.

I was so pleased when I found these little key hole brad :)

The washi tape I have had for ages (a freebie from a magazine) came in very use full :)

The page will be decorated as I fill the album up, to correspond with what is inside the envelope

  5. Debbi, this is gob-smackingly fantastic!! The mini albums look incredibly professional - you've done a brilliant job. I'm glad I'm not the only one who never quite knows what they're going to end up with when they start a project. If this is your 1st attempt at altered art, then I can't wait to see what else you come up with! Would it be OK if I put it on display in the shop with a bit of background info about the challenge & your site? Would understand if you wanted to keep it safe at home though, after all that hard work!
