It's a boy thing

Hiya crafty friends,

Are you like me? When it comes to making cards for the men in our life, you get crafter's block. Well the good news is with Emma Canning's new digi stamps over at Polkadoodles really has made our crafting life a little bit easier. I have used the Music Time, digi which I have coloured using my Promarkers.

Firstly I cut out a centre stepper card and decorated it using papers and a sentiment from the Boys Hoot download collection. I trimmed around the arms and the MP3 player on the digi so I could overlap them over the top of the highest step so it give the illusion he is leaning over the top of the card.

See you next Choosday

Damask stepper card

Hiya crafty friends,

I went for a clean and simple look for my Clare Curd Crafts project today.

I love the colour of this sage ribbon so that was my starting point. Which I also used to matt and layer and go across the front paisley embossed front panel.

The label and the side panels were stamped with the lovely Damask stamp, using  Memento New Sprout ink and finished off with two Papermania gem brads.

Thanks for popping by

Polkadoodle paper piecing

Hiya craft friends,
"I live in organised chaos and I am fine with that"
This year I made a new years resolution that I would try to be more organised, so with this in mind I dug out an old ring binder that I had in my cupboard and made a folder planner but the cover was bland and dull and was just screaming out to be Polkadoodled! :)

I absolutely love this Sleepy Head digi, which is also available from our esty store.

Now I don't know if I am mad, but I decided to paper piece the whole image, including the hair!!!

I coloured the skin, with my Promarkers. I added my trusty tiny flat back pearls to the centre of each roller and eye mask.

The collections I used for the paper piecing  were a mixture of Boys Hoot, Christmas Joy and Tail Feather. The lovely flower backing was from the Boys Hoot collection too.

I added a bit of depth by using my Ice grey 1 Promarker to add some shadow on the paper piecing

Fingers crossed I will be more organised now ;)

Fanned Flower Card

Hiya crafty friends,

I found this cut file for this flower on the Silhouette store and fell for it. I loved how it looked and the dimension it gave. It is slightly fiddly but still simple to do, but I think it is well worth it in the end.

This is how I made the flower.

First I cut out 15 of the perforated circles from a sheet of Prima's Believe 6x6 paper pad

And I folded it as follows:

I then covered a small square of card with some adhesive and began to place and stick each of the folded circles beside each other, which begins to form the flower.
This is how it looks on the back

And once all 15 are placed together and the top 'petel' are pushed down they form a fantastic flower

It finish it I placed a large brad in the centre and added a flat back pearl.

I embossed the backing with Embossalicious Folders -DOTTIE A4 folder
