Christmas Words

Hiya crafty friends,

How's your Christmas preparation going?

I have been busy busy busy crafting for this years Christmas fair, so have overloaded on seasonal themed crafts. But I must admit I've loved every minute...I love Christmas crafting. What's your favourite seasonal crafting?

And whilst we are on the subject. I have also made a Christmas card for this weeks Clare Curd Crafts project. I was again influenced by the fantastic Jennifer McGuire to make this card using the Jolly Holly stamp set. I would love to use this stamping technique again, so I will be digging out all my word stamps and experimenting a bit :)

See you next Wednesday x

I was on Create and Craft! (Well my projects were)

Hiya crafty friends,

A few weeks back my wonderful craft friend Denyse told me that the UK's Create and Craft TV channel were looking for samples of crafters work with the Silhouette Cameo. So I thought I'd send in a few of mine. Thinking they were going to pick one from the samples I sent, to my surprised ALL of my projects were shown! I have to confess I was a little excited as this was the first time any of my work has been shown on TV, so I thought I'd share my happy news with you guys.

I love my Silhouette and couldn't be without it now

Here's an edited video of my projects being shown (sorry about the quality):

And here are the screen captures

Patchwork Christmas (Clare Curd Crafts DT)

Hiya crafty friends

I am very traditional in my taste when it comes to Christmas. I love the red and green vintage theme. And this was the look I was trying to achieve with this card.

Here's how I made it...

1. Cut 8 circles from each of the patterned papers

2. Fold in to form a square. To make this easier I made these on my Silhouette Cameo and made the squares with a perforated line which I folded.

3. Take some Fired Brick Distress Ink and sponge around the edge of the red/cream circles.
then fold the edges back in.

4. Repeat to process with the green circles using Peeled Paint Distress ink

5. Cut out a scallop square a little smaller than 6x6 and sponged the edges with Fired Brick Distress Ink
(As you can see I have added a perforated square within the scalloped square. This will come in very handy in the next step )

 6. Using the perforated square as a guide I placed and stuck the folded square within it, in the order to form my chosen pattern

I added some small red gems to the centre of the grid

7.  I made the sentiment plauqe I distressed the edge of one of the Clare Curd Crafts Die Cut Tickets with Fired Brick Distress Ink
and randomly stamped with the Believe stamp from the My Minds Eye Vintage Christmas stamp set.
I then used one of the sentiment stickers from the My Minds Eye Vintage Christmas12x12 sticker accessory sheet.  also added a little Peeled Paint Distress Ink around the sticker to soften the edge and give a more vintage aged look.

8. I spondged the edge of a 6x6 white blank card
and then adhered the patchwork to the centre of the card. And to finish I placed the sentiment in the bottom righthand corner
