Scrapbook Challenge

Hiya Crafty Friends,

There is still plenty of time to take part in our sister site's Scrapbook Challenge, which closes on the 15th April. Unfortunately, due to other commitment, this will be our last scrap challenge :( I have loved being on this Design Team and want to say a HUGE thank you to Marleen, who has done a fantastic job running it...big hugs hun xx

So why not send it off with a bang and enter a scrap page this month.

The theme is:

Music

and will be sponsored by

Well, onto my DT page, and this month all the design team were lucky enough to play with a gorgeous Digital Kit from Stamping Dragon.

I struggled at first to think of what photographs I could use that went with the music, but then it hit me. I am a huge fan of the singer Will Young and I have been to many of his solo concerts (well all of them to be honest...lol) and have lots and lots of photographs from the show. Doh, why didn't I think of it earlier..lol :)

I decided to use these particular photo's, as I thought the stage light went quite well with the colour tones of the kit.

If I possibly can, I like to overlay images on to the papers and I found that this image (the largest) worked particularly well on the green paper. As for the film strip, that was just crying out to have individual images set into it.

I am really pleased how the end product came out :)

So why not pop over to the Scrap Challenge and enter your fantastic pages

Creativity Club Friday - Tweet Tweet

Hiya Crafty Friends,

I have had so much fun playing with this weeks Creativity Club download. My word it was a bumper collection!! And lovely colours too to brighten this horrible weather we have been having...when is Spring going to start????

Scrapbooking is not something that comes easy to me, but I do enjoy doing some digital scrapbooking from time to time, and is another reason why I love working with downloads. They can be used for so many crafting proects.

I used the first few steps of the technique I used here, to bring elements from the downloads across from a PDF and paste to my favourite digital software, Craft Artist.

Of course I have used and picture of my lovely nephew again, he is sooooo photogenic, which I am very jealous of :) Me and cameras don't mix. Well, that's not when I'm running away from them...lol :)

Are you a Creativity Club member? Have you made anything with this download?

If you have, I'd love to have  look see, so why not op your link below and I'll come for a visit. I love seeing other crafters makes :)

Online Card Classes - Day 3

Hiya crafty friends,

Had another fabulous class today Online Card Class - Pattern Play. I think it has been my favourite up to now.
Today was all about how to work with hard to use pattern papers. Which is such a great idea, as we all have those papers that sit on our shelf that we just don't know what to do with.

So I looked through my paper pad stash and came across this pad that I got free with a magazine, which I have never used. As I found the patterns too scary..lol!  I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about.

I found the rose paper paper particularly scary, so I made sure that was the first I took out of the pad. The stripe paper is not a hard to use paper, but I included it for balance.

And here's my card (which was a quick one today, as it's a bit of a busy few days)

I was particularly inspired by one of the tutors called Debby, who I have not come across before but now love her work.

Online Card Classes - Pattern Play - Day 2

Hiya Crafy Friends,

Today was the second day of Online Card Classes - Pattern Play, where we learnt how to use stamps with pattern paper.

Here is the card  have made. Sorry it's not the best photo, but with using such light colours I struggled to photograph it.

I also used this week download from the Creativity Club. I am not totally happy with it, so will have another play and post this Creativity Club Friday.

Online Card Classes - Pattern Play - Day 1

Hiya Crafty friends,

All this week I am participating in the Online Card Classes - Pattern Play, and this is my Day 1 'homework'.

I really enjoyed the first class, and I'm eager to see what we have in store for the rest of the week and learn more on how to work with hard to use pattern papers.

I'm off now for my next class. I'll keep you updated with my 'homework' as the week goes on

Creativity Friday - Eggstra Special!!

Hiya Crafty friends,
Wow! What a bumper pack there was to download from the Creativity Club this week, all in gorgeous pastel tones, plus everything you need to make your Easter crafts.

I went a bit eggs galore on my card, didn't I...lol! :) And this is only a small bit of what the collection contains. If you have got lots of Easter crafting to do, I recommend this collection. Not simply because it is gorgeous, but there is so much you could use after Easter too.

For a bit of depth, I have decoupaged some of the eggs

And added some sentiments

Creativity Club Friday - Spring into Spring

Hi crafty friends,

Phew, where has the week gone. And here we are....Friday again! So that means one thing...
Creativity Club Friday!!!!

This weeks Creativity Club download is the Gorgeous Part 2 of the Spring Greens collection, which was perfect for a technique I have wanted to try for a while now. And with so many fabulous papers that came in the collection, I was dying to give it a go.

With St Patrick's Day just around the corner, these papers are perfect! But there are so many uses for them too...good luck and Christmas, to name just a couple.

You may be seeing this technique again, as I really like it...lol :)

Pinterest Monday #7

Hiya Crafty friends,

If you are anything like me, you have more ribbon than you know what to do with.

Then visit here for some great ideas

My 'travel' with Shernocky Crafts

Hiya crafty friends,

I wanted to share with you a project I have been working on for the fabulous Shernocky Crafts's 'One for the Men' challenge that was run through my sister challenge blog last month.

I had a go at making an altered suitcase box..

That holds two 'envelope page' albums

I don't know about you, but I always find masculine projects quite hard to do (I wonder why that is???) and it took me a while to finalise my ideas for this project. It's been through many looks and changes, I can tell you. It didn't start off being a suitcase, but took off on a life of it's own :) And this is the first large piece of altered art I have done ( it started out life as two Christmas cards boxes and a banana box...), but it all seems to come together in the end and I'm really pleased how it has came out.

I was so pleased when I found these little key hole brad :)

The washi tape I have had for ages (a freebie from a magazine) came in very use full :)

The page will be decorated as I fill the album up, to correspond with what is inside the envelope
